The SEAT Alhambra launches in UK showrooms this week, the new successor to the original seven-seater MPV people carrier.
Branded the SEAT Alhambra, this new model is said to have had a complete car parts make-over both inside and out.
The Alhambra is the largest car SEAT has made measuring in at more than 4.8 metres stem to stem, and is also boasted as the company’s most luxurious and technologically advanced.
It is one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in the people-carrier range sporting two sliding rear doors so it is more practical for moving objects.
The new model has simplified the way in which car owners can remove second and third row seats, so through the pull of a lever all five second and third row seats move into the car’s floor making space for extra luggage.
In terms of storage, like most MPVs, the vehicle comes with cupholders, tray tables, cubbies and pockets to hold family belongings. Another hi-tech gadget includes high beam assist technology, which automatically switches between full and dipped beam depending on the oncoming traffic and street lighting.
Customers will also have the option to have Park Assist technology fitted in the vehicle for those who order them from December 2010 onwards.
The technology aids the driver by identifying suitable parking spaces and then automatically attends to the steering while the driver simply controls the accelerator, clutch and brake.
Prices for the new model line start at £22,330 RRP.
