New Mazda car parts ‘helping to boost manufacturer’s green credentials’

Innovative Mazda car parts are helping the manufacturer improve its green credentials, it has been suggested.

The company pointed out it has created a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine equipped with selective catalytic reduction technology that cuts harmful NOx gases.

In addition, the group’s stop/start system is capable of fuel savings of up to 14 per cent when fitted to the new Mazda3 i-stop model.

The carmaker highlighted these innovations after a European Federation for Transport and Environment report revealed, out of 14 leading manufacturers, the firm had been the second most successful in 2008 at reducing the average CO2 emissions of its motors.

Mazda recorded a drop of 8.2 per cent, behind BMW with a cut of 10.2 per cent.

The carmaker revealed it plans to reduce the average CO2 emissions of its autos a further 23 per cent by 2015.

Research reveals best cars of the millennium

A new study has revealed the best used autos of the millennium.

Carsite.co.uk looked at a variety of factors – including customer satisfaction, running costs, sales figures, performance, reliability, depreciation and owner reviews – to produce a top 50 of the greatest vehicles of the noughties.

The auto which claimed the overall crown was the Mazda MX5 convertible.

Honda’s CR-V secured second spot and the Skoda Octavia clinched third place.

Meanwhile, some quite exclusive autos also made the top 50, with the Ferrari 360 finishing at 39 in the chart.

Commenting on the first-placed model, Carsite.co.uk spokesman Alistair Jeff said: "The Mazda MX5 deserves the top position thanks to strong reliability, value for money, residual performance and driveability."

He added the fact the vehicle emerged as the overall winner also highlights just how much Brits love drop-tops.

Meanwhile, the group recently urged people planning to buy a second-hand vehicle to act fast before prices rise further.

New Mazda car parts ‘boost auto’s performance’

A variety of new Mazda car parts have been fitted to the latest addition to the manufacturer’s line up to ensure it offers an "exhilarating" drive, it has been claimed.

The Mazda3 MPS is due to arrive in showrooms up and down the UK in October and the company explained it features a range of innovative equipment.

Buyers will find the auto comes with the same engine that was fitted in the previous model.

However, the MZR 2.3 turbo unit has been revised so it complies with Euro 5 emissions regulations, without a reduction in power.

Mazda also claimed the use of an electronic throttle and boost pressure control allow for "stunningly fast acceleration".

In addition, a new exhaust system with twin tailpipes has resulted in a ten dB reduction in noise at engine speeds in excess of 5,000 rpm.

Sales and marketing director Mark Cameron commented: "Our latest Mazda3 MPS is a strikingly bold design, more dynamic looking, more aggressive and more assertive than ever before."

Prices start from £21,500.

Meanwhile, the new Mazda CX-7 is due to debut at this month’s Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Managing director Jeremy Thomson said: "The continued success of Mazda2 and the launch of the all-new Mazda3 has … helped boost profits for our dealers."

Overall, net year-on-year profits for the first five months of 2009 were up 60 per cent.

The group also revealed dealers across the country have reported an increase in operating profit over the same period of 24.1 per cent.

Mazda car parts buyers may be impressed with new deals

Motorists who regularly buy Mazda parts in order to keep a much-loved auto running smoothly may be impressed to hear the manufacturer has improved its scrappage scheme deals.

The group pointed out participants in the initiative can now save up to £6,000 off the cost of its models.

Sales and marketing director Mark Cameron described it as a great chance for people to drive away in an attractive, reliable auto at a competitive price.

He went on to explain why the firm has decided to amend its discounts.

"We have taken the opportunity to review Mazda’s range of supporting allowances to ensure we are offering customers the best possible deals for the summer," Mr Cameron stated.

Drivers looking to take advantage of the financial incentives must have an auto registered at least ten years ago that they are prepared to trade in.

However, motorists who do not qualify for the deals may find they can keep their current auto in peak condition by replacing worn parts with Mazda car spares bought online.
