New fastest Jaguar XKR unveiled

Carmaker Jaguar will unveil the fastest ever version of its supercharged XKR coupe at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new vehicle offers a significantly raised maximum speed – up to 174mph from 155mph – and bold new styling changes.

Customers will also be given the option to personalise their vehicle and create a car that offers even greater performance.

Russ Varney, chief programme engineer for the XK Series, commented: "The car has always had the potential to reach speeds far beyond its original electronically limited maximum and many of our customers have expressed an interest in a car that can safely be driven faster where conditions permit."

The company added that in order to ensure the car remains stable at high speeds a revised front aerodynamic splitter and larger rear spoiler are used to provide increased balance and a reduction in lift.

Running from March 4th to 14th, the Geneva Motor Show is now in its 80th year.

Jaguars top for satisfaction

Two brands are creating more than Land Rover and Jaguar spares, as they have been said to come up trumps for sales satisfaction.

Jaguar and Land Rover have recently celebrated results from the J D Power and Associates 2009 Sales Satisfaction Index study.

The global marketing information firm ranked Jaguar in 1st place for the second year in a row as the company walked away with the Luxury brand award.

Land Rover was also able to celebrate coming in fifth place for luxury brands.

Gary Temple, president of Jaguar Land Rover North America, said: "The top goals of this organisation are to deliver world-class quality products to our customers with a world-class dealership sales and service experience."

Responses were taken from 48,000 people in relation to new motors registered in May and June of this year.

Jaguar has 80 year experience of making cars, with Land Rover being able to boast 60 years of heritage.

Sales success to continue, says Jaguar

It is likely that the volume of Jaguar parts being manufactured has risen – if last month’s sales figures are to be believed.

The company has reported that its November sales went up by 50 per cent compared with the same period for 2008.

Geoff Cousins, managing director for Jaguar UK, said: "The success of both the new XF and XK models demonstrates excitement and interest in the new range of Jaguar cars."

He added: "I am delighted these figures reflect a step forward for Jaguar UK within a challenging market."

Mr Cousins stated that he believes the current success story for the company will continue into next year.

Jaguar sold more models of the XF so far in 2009 than it did previously when the motor was originally launched in 2008. Total sales for last year for the model were 8,462 yet they are already at 9,128 for this year.

The XF is said to be refined yet sporty, featuring the same amount of space that you would find in a saloon.

Salon Prive “right choice” for Jaguar car debut

Motorists who buy Jaguar spares and car parts to keep their prized vehicles running smoothly might take time to cast an eye over the latest luxury addition to the manufacturer’s line-up next week.

The all-new XJ model, which was unveiled to the world for the first time just a fortnight ago, will make its public bow at this year’s Salon Prive in London from July 22nd to 24th.

Geoff Cousins, UK managing director of Jaguar Cars, said the event was "the right choice" for the vehicle’s first appearance.

"The quintessentially British setting of the Hurlingham Club is the ideal venue to debut the latest in a long line of iconic British luxury cars," he commented.

With prices starting at £52,500 and featuring a new aerospace-inspired aluminium body structure, the vehicle is sure to make an impact as an "unprecedented number" of super and luxury cars are unveiled at the show.

The brand-new XJ has already caught the attention of car enthusiast and chat show host Jay Leno, who helped unveil the new model at an exclusive event at London’s Saatchi Gallery last Thursday.
