Herbert to put Honda car parts to the test

A former Formula One ace is to get the opportunity to test some Honda car parts to their limit in the coming months.

Johnny Herbert has signed a contract to get behind the wheel of the Civic Type R for the last three stages of the British Touring Car Championship.

The racing great has already tried out his vehicle, when he took to the track during summer testing at Rockingham.

"I’m really excited to be racing in the Civic. It’s very different to what I was used to in Formula One but no less of an adrenaline rush," he stated.

Herbert added he was looking forward to his first race at Silverstone.

Johnny is taking the place of James Thompson, who cannot complete the season due to prior commitments.

Meanwhile, motorists with their own road car from the manufacturer may find they can improve its performance using Honda car spares bought online.

Cheap car parts buyers could keep other costs down using Honda tool

Motorists who keep costs down by buying cheap car spares online may find another tool on the internet proves useful in helping them save money.

Honda has introduced a calculator onto its website, which allows drivers to compare the whole-life costs of the group’s autos against those of rival models.

Users are shown how much they will be looking at spending over three years or 60,000 miles.

The data is provided by an independent source and takes into account a range of outgoings from vehicle excise duty to insurance.

Honda said the tool is designed for use by individual motorists and businesses.

Tom Gardner, head of marketing, commented: "We want to support retail and corporate customers by helping them make an informed purchase decision based on the issues that are relevant to them."

Meanwhile, people who drive an Accord may have been impressed by the reliability of Honda car parts, as the model was recently named as the most dependable auto in the UK by a Which? poll.

AA will be on hand to repair Honda car parts

Honda drivers who have found themselves stranded as the result of defective car parts in the past may welcome the news the AA is to continue working with the company as its roadside assistance partner.

The manufacturer explained, although its vehicles are reliable, it is aware of the importance of a good breakdown package.

Product technical manager Gary Castle said: "It’s crucial that we are able to provide the necessary support to our customers at the roadside."

Honda claimed with the AA’s help it should be possible for stranded motorists to be attended to as quickly as possible.

It stated whenever it is an option, problems will be fixed at the roadside.

However, if this is not possible, drivers were advised their autos would be taken to the nearest dealership.

Earlier this month, Honda car parts received a stamp of approval when the manufacturer’s Accord model was named by Which? as the most reliable auto in the UK.

Car parts buyers may agree they ‘deserve dependability’

Motorists who always replace worn car parts to ensure their auto is as reliable as possible may agree that a dependable vehicle is something every driver deserves.

Honda made this comment in light of a recent survey that found the manufacturer’s models can generally be trusted to get owners from A to B with the minimum of fuss.

The Which? Car reliability poll placed four of the company’s autos in the top seven.

In first position was the Accord, closely followed by the latest edition of the Jazz.

The second-placed model’s predecessor took sixth spot and the Civic Hybrid came in seventh.

Matt Gibson, head of customer services, said drivers should feel they can depend on their autos.

He added: "It’s fantastic news that four of the top seven cars featured in the survey are Hondas."

Meanwhile, motorists keen to keep a much-loved auto from the manufacturer on the road may find replacing worn parts with Honda car spares bought online can help keep their vehicle in peak condition for many years to come.

Survey may help buyers choose a model with reliable car parts

Auto buyers who are happy to replace car parts when they get worn out but do not want a vehicle that is constantly letting them down may find a new survey useful.

Which Car? has polled more than 84,000 owners to find out which sets of wheels are the most reliable.

The Honda Accord was revealed to be the motor least likely to develop faults and breakdown – achieving a score of 99 per cent.

Close behind was another model from the Japanese manufacturer – the Jazz – with a 98 per cent rating.

The Daihatsu Sirion, Hyundai i30 and Ford Fiesta completed the top five most dependable autos.

Which Car? editor Richard Headland said he was extremely impressed with the first-placed vehicle.

He stated: "You can’t do better than the Honda Accord, which is one of the most reliable cars we’ve ever surveyed."

Motorists who already own this model and are keen to hang onto it for as long as possible may find replacing worn parts with Honda car spares bought online can help keep it in peak condition for many years to come.
