The seaside will be the theme when British Car Auctions (BCA) holds its first specialist convertible sale of the year on Saturday (April 17th).

Blackbushe auction centre, in Surrey, will play host to the event, which is timed to coincide with the improving weather, with drivers finally able to put the top down without fear of being caught out by the unpredictable British weather.

It will be the first of three such events to be staged throughout spring and into summer, and there will be around 400 convertible models going under the hammer.

Prices will range from £4,000 to £40,000, catering to a wide variety of budgets, and the auction is open to all buyers, with models from manufacturers such as Jaguar and Porsche will be up for grabs.

Alan Gupwell, remarketing manager for BCA said: "The specialist convertible market has a strong following with buyers and themed events such as this create a great deal of interest".

Buyers at the auction are likely to follow in the footsteps of the one in five Brits who buy a car without taking it for a test drive first.
