The first automatic tyre changer, manufactured by Snap-on Equipment, has arrived in the UK.
Minera Tyres & Exhaust, based in north Wales, has received the state-of-the-art Hofmann Quadriga 1000.
The machine enables tyres to be automatically demounted and mounted from wheel rims that have a diameter of up to 30 inches.
It is capable of working on all conventional wheels and ensures both run-flat and ultra-high performance tyres are handled correctly.
The Quadriga 1000 was designed to minimise error sources by making the changing process automatic as well as relieving the operator of the changes.
Throughout the tyre change, the operator does not lose control of the machine as there is an intelligent controller which ensures the exact adjusted pressures are applied to the tyre.
There is no risk to the wheel rim or the tyre when using the machine and it enables all operations, particularly bead breaking, to be conducted without error.
In the UK, Snap-on Equipment makes an extensive range of equipment for car and commercial vehicle service and accident damage repair.
