Tailgating is the most hated bad habit among UK motorists, it has been revealed.
Research carried out by Kwik-Fit shows that driving bumper-to-bumper is despised by two-thirds of British drivers, while 62 per cent put failing to indicate at the top of their list of pet hates and 57 per cent most dislike dangerous overtaking.
David White, customer services director at the company, said drivers are so frustrated by these habits as they are so dangerous.
"Although driving too close to another vehicle isn’t a specific offence, it’s one of the most common causes of car accidents," he said.
"Many accidents are caused by aggressive driving – whether it’s people driving too close to the car in front, dangerous overtaking, or jumping traffic lights."
Earlier this month, the Institute of Advanced Motorists revealed that despite many warnings, people are continuing to put other motorists at risk by using their mobile phones while driving.
