Peugeot has said its 308 CC now has added "six appeal" thanks to an upgraded 1.6 litre 156 bhp Euro 5 THP turbo-charged petrol engine.
The manufacturer has also introduced a six-speed automatic gearbox to the model, which it considers the flagship of its 308 CC petrol range.
Aisin AW has developed the new AT6 gearbox according to Peugeot’s specifications, with it designed to withstand a maximum torque of 300 Nm.
The AT6 has also been designed with one eye on the vehicle’s environmental impact, with the car emitting approximately seven per cent fewer carbon emissions compared to the AM6, which also sees a reduction in the amount of fuel consumed.
Motorists may also notice that the AT6 benefits from smoother gear changes and improved synchronisation and responsiveness.
The vehicle also has an option of two driving modes – automatic, which is able to adapt to an individual’s driving style, and active, with motorists able to benefit from sequential selection control.
Earlier this month, the Peugeot 3008 Crossover won the prestigious Car of the Year title at the What Car? awards.
