Electric cars are to be made available for delegates at the Copenhagen Conference this week.

There will be 60 Citroen motors on offer which have been bought by a Danish firm called ChoosEV, which promotes the use of electric cars.

Citroen’s C1 ev’ies have been supplied by British firm the Electric Car Corporation (ECC).

Henrik Isaksen, chief executive of ChoosEV, said: "The ev’ie demonstrates the outstanding performance possible from top grade electric cars. It is a joy to drive and feels just like a normal car."

ECC anticipates that more than 1,000 electric vehicles will be sold in Scandinavia next year and in the past six months has it has sold cars to France, Germany, Luxembourg and Norway.

The firm has come to a distribution agreement with ChoosEV in anticipation of the sales figures.

Citroen ev’ies feature central locking, electric front windows, a radio CD player with mp3 input and a choice of three or five-door options.
