BMW is celebrating success after scooping a prestigious award title.

The manufacturer claimed thwo MotorCycle News (MCN) prizes.

Its K 1300 S gained the Best Sports Tourer of 2009a and the F 800 GS was successful in achieving the Best Trailie category.

The firm stated that the F 800 GS had become more and more successful after it originally worn the Best Trailie category in 2008, with over 500 or the models being sole to date since the start of the year.

Adrian Roderick, general manager for BMW Motorrad UK, said: "In terms of sales, 2008 was officially our most successful year ever and 2009 has been another very strong year for BMW Motorrad in the UK."

He added that the company has been able to celebrated yet again increasing its market share in 2009 and stated that the two award demonstrate what has been an "outstanding year".

Earlier this month the brand claimed the Energy Saving Trust’s title of Fleet Hero for the second year in a row.
