For those Brits who intend on going to France to make a booze run – or maybe venturing to another part of Europe for the Christmas markets – the message is that the UK government will collect fines, issuing licence endorsements on other countries’ behalf.
The warning from RoadPilot is not to be in too much of a hurry, as you could get a speeding fine that counts on your British license.
James Flynn, chief executive officer of the company, said: "With almost 1,400 known speed camera sites in France alone, it is no wonder that more than half a million British motorists are flashed by French roadside cameras each year."
He explained that travelling too fast is easily done by motorists as they are using roads that are unfamiliar to them.
RoadPilot reports that fixed speeding cameras are responsible for around three million fines each year.
