Porsche car parts will be painted at one of the most environmentally-friendly automotive facilities in the world, it has been claimed.
The manufacturer has revealed it is expanding its production operations at its main plant in Stuttgart, Germany.
It stated, as well as being kind to the planet, the facility will feature innovative technology never previously used in the car industry.
Porsche explained a cutting-edge electrostatic precipitator for paint dust will make it possible to reduce the emission of particles and solvents to a minimum.
The factory is due to be completed in 2011 and will produce up to 170 Boxster and 911 models every day.
Spokesman for the manufacturer Wolfgang Leimgruber stated: "Porsche is ensuring that it will deliver unsurpassed quality … while also conserving resources in an exceptionally ecological and economical manner."
Last month, the marque announced it is to build a limited edition 911 Sport Classic model with a production run of 250.
