An electric vehicle (EV) and mini multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) are to take the stage at the forthcoming Tokyo Motor Show as part of Nissan’s line up.

The manufacturer confirmed this week that it will present a range of cars to visitors at the event, which is scheduled to run from October 24th to November 4th in Chiba City.

Showcasing the Leaf, which is an EV set for mass-production late next year, Nissan will also focus on battery-charging systems and technologies that will help it reach the environmental goal of zero emissions.

Another EV on display will be the Land Glider – a concept at this stage – while the Qazana is a compact sport crossover that was revealed earlier this year in Geneva.

Nissan also intends to unveil its new mini MPV, which is named Roox and set for official launch later in 2009.

The company added: "[The] exhibit will feature a wide range of models and technologies such as hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), clean diesel technology and next-generation X-TRONIC CVT."
