For the eighth time, Audi will begin the finale of the 2009 DTM from grid position one.

Mattias Ekstrom from Sweden will begin at the top slot at the Hockenheimring for the third time in a row and Timo Scheider has also positioned himself well this Sunday (November 1st) to defend his DTM title.
The Swede was classed as the dominant driver for the last DTM qualifier of the year.
In the morning practice in he recorded a below one minute 32 seconds, making him the only DTM competitor to achieve such a time at the Hockenheimring.
Ekstrom, said afterwards: "I want to finally celebrate my first victory of the season – only then will I be happy. And I’d even be happier if Timo (Scheider) clinched the title at the same time."
He described the Audi’s performance on the day as "perfect" and that driving it was a fantastic experience.
The manufacturer claims it has been committed to the model of the car despite imposed restrictions not allowing much freedom to its engineers.
