The new Impreza Boxer 2.0D comes with a range of Subaru car parts designed to protect occupants and pedestrians in the event of an accident, it has been revealed.

Buyers of the latest addition to the manufacturer’s line up will find it comes with four-channel anti-lock brakes, featuring brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution.

Driver and passenger front airbags, along with side and curtain airbags, also come as standard.

In addition, the clutch and brake pedals are designed to snap off under extreme pressure so that a motorist’s lower limbs are protected.

Meanwhile, external features put in place to minimise risk to pedestrians include collapsible windscreen wipers, a gently curved bonnet and a more rounded bumper.

The model is available in trim levels RC and RX.

Prices for the first start at £20,000, while the second costs from £22,225.

In related news, Subaru previously announced people buying 1.5 and 2.0 editions of the Impreza before September 30th would benefit from a five-year servicing and warranty package.
