The powertrain on a new Lexus model offers excellent performance and outstanding green credentials, the manufacturer has claimed.

Due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, the LF-Ch is a hybrid designed to be launched on the European premium compact market.

According to the carmaker, the vehicle’s powertrain is capable of the kind of performance demanded by customers looking for this type of auto.

However, it pointed out the model also boasts low CO2 and NOx emissions and impressive fuel consumption.

Motorists who opt for this car will find it can be driven in a full electric mode.

This choice is not always available on hybrids, but is suitable for busy urban environments.

When driven in electric mode, the LF-Ch releases no emissions and is extremely quiet, the manufacturer explained.

Earlier this year, What Car? magazine’s JD Power customer satisfaction survey named Lexus as the group offering the highest levels of driver contentment.
