Looking after car parts properly could help a vehicle retain more of its value, it has been claimed.
According to Europcar, routine maintenance can assist drivers in getting the best possible price for their motor when they come to trade it in.
In addition to this, it could also maximise efficiency and allow owners to save money at the pump, the company stated.
The firm advised motorists to check tyre pressure on a weekly basis.
It explained this would ensure these crucial car parts last as long as possible, while also boosting fuel economy.
Meanwhile, sticking to an auto’s scheduled servicing appointments was highlighted as being important too.
Drivers were also urged to remove bird droppings as soon as possible in order to avoid damage to paintwork.
Marketing Director Catriona Lougher commented: "We hope some of our inventive solutions to keep cars in top condition this autumn will help drivers reduce unnecessary wear and tear on their own vehicles."
In other news, Europcar previously reported one customer brought back their hire auto in less than perfect condition after a close encounter with a lion at a safari park.
