The new S5 Sportback features some "exceptional" Audi car parts, the manufacturer has claimed.

Due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt International Motor Show this month, the model boasts a three-litre V6 engine with a mechanical compressor.

Audi revealed the unit allows the auto to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds.

The car has a top speed of 155 mph, which is limited through the use of an electronic governor.

Meanwhile, the model’s powertrain features quattro permanent all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The manufacturer also drew attention to the auto’s good looks.

It stated: "Small yet striking exterior and interior features visually distinguish the Audi S5 Sportback."

The company is also due to unveil its new A3 1.2 TFSI and A4 3.0 TDI models at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Last month, the carmaker revealed it was launching a music track composed entirely of sounds produced by the new Audi TT RS.
