Motorists who require car parts for a blue auto may be the kind of people who value security, if the comments of one vehicle retailer are anything to go by.

According to Carcraft, the colour drivers opt for when choosing a set of wheels could reveal something about their lifestyle.

It made this comment after conducting research that revealed silver is the number one favoured option among British auto buyers, followed by blue.

Referring to the findings, marketing manager Stacey Ludlow claimed the two shades preferred by UK drivers may reflect their feelings towards the recession.

She stated: "The fact that blue, a colour favoured by those with a family focus, is still a popular second choice perhaps indicates the importance of security in uncertain times."

Ms Ludlow added that silver is considered to be a sign of prestige and motorists may be choosing this shade to demonstrate they are doing well despite the economic downturn.

In other news, the number of drivers searching for car parts for convertibles may be set to rise, as Carcraft recently suggested soft-top models were becoming more popular.
