A number of innovative Mercedes car parts will feature on the manufacturer’s new estate E-Class, the company has claimed.
The group explained some of this technology has been designed to help keep drivers safe – such as automatic emergency braking and drowsiness detection.
It claimed systems like these are not available in any other vehicle in the same category.
As well as leading the field in terms of safety, Mercedes also said the model sets a benchmark when it comes to practicality, comfort and quality.
Fitting the auto with new engines has also reduced emissions and improved economy, the group stated.
It pointed out the E 250 CDI unit allows the vehicle to achieve 48.7 mpg while releasing 150 g/km of CO2.
The model is due to arrive in showrooms up and down Britain towards the beginning of next year.
Earlier this summer, Mercedes announced the introduction of the new CLS Grand Edition.
The company revealed UK numbers were to be limited to 560.
