As Suzuki celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, the company has been reflecting on some of the innovative car parts it has produced in the past and some it plans to develop in the future.
The Japanese manufacturer was established in 1909 and began auto production in 1955 – when it unveiled the Suzulight.
According to the group, the model was one of the first cars to come with rack and pinion steering, front-wheel drive and four-wheel independent suspension.
The company then launched its original Marine outboard motor in 1965.
General-purpose engines were introduced in 1980 and the firm’s first all-terrain vehicle was unveiled two years later.
In the future, the business intends to develop hydrogen fuel cell systems and it recently tested a model featuring the technology on roads in Japan.
Meanwhile, motorists who own one of the manufacturer’s models – and have been happy with its performance – may find they can hang onto their much-loved auto for longer by ensuring they replace worn parts with Suzuki car spares bought online.
